The fake-dating bodyguard romance between the daughter of a Hollywood actress and the son of a tech billionaire

I love it when a reader emails me to say they devoured one of my books! It’s like air. Or an extra shot of caffeine that keeps me going.

In honour of that, I’d like to share an excerpt from Flame True.

It’s a slow-slow, really slow-burn romance between Mulberry (yep, the girl they rescued from book one) and Nick Laurent (the son of the tech billionaire).

He’s snobbish and has a rep. for being a playboy.

She’s sassy and has all kinds of secrets.

When Xander comes up with the plan for Nick and Mulberry to fake-date, neither of them is happy about it.

Also? One of my scenes from Club Bandit in the viewing room is in this book. You can buy it here.

Fingering her, working his fingers back and forth in her wetness, he knew this woman had a hold on him.

And he didn’t mind it at all.

She tilted her hips, trying to get his fingers on her clit, but he ignored her encouragement. Instead, he pulled his fingers out of her pussy, bringing them to her mouth.

Her eyes blazed into his. She fitted her lips around his finger and sucked, hollowing her cheeks.

Holy fuck.

“That was hot,” Nick gritted out.

“I said now.”

It was almost a pout; if it had come from any other girl, Nick would have made them wait.

But the need he had for her was a volcano ready to erupt.

“I want you to come apart for me, Mulberry. I want you to orgasm so hard you see stars.”

She licked her lips and spread her legs wide.

Nick settled between her, spreading her thighs as wide as he could to fully access her pussy.

She gasped as his tongue hit her clit, the taste of her blooming through his senses sparking in him a hunger.

He had to have her right now.

His tongue lapped in a slow circle around her clit.

He sucked and swirled, urged on by her pleading from above him.

So damn good.

Why he deprived himself of this woman for a second, he didn’t know.

Those reasons seemed far off and meaningless.

He ate at her pussy, as if he was starving, drowning in her scent. Loving how her body trembled, the way her pussy juices coated his tongue.

He drowned in her for a long while until her thighs trembled.

“Nick, I can’t…wait!” Mulberry’s belly tightened.

“Then don’t. Come for me.”

He flicked his tongue mercilessly over and over her hard clit. Her pussy contracted under his tongue, and he gripped her legs, intent on coaxing more drops of pleasure from her.

Her sounds urged him on, diving into her sweet heat again, wanting that clit to become hard and see her lose control.

“Nick…I can’t! Okay, stop.”

She pushed him away. “Too much. So good, but too much.”

With one more swipe of his tongue, he rested his palms on the top of her knees, smiling as she lay on her side, her head turned away from him.

“Mulberry, look at me,” he commanded.

Her grey-blue eyes flew open, and his thumb pressed hard on her clit. “You are gorgeous, ma belle. I love seeing your body melt into pleasure. If it’s too much, we’ll stop. But I want to see how you come. Show me.”

She swallowed, the desire heavy in her eyes. She gave a slight nod, and without breaking eye contact, her hips rose off the bed as his thumb worked mercilessly on her clit.

He nudged her legs open even further. “Your pussy is so pretty, swollen and pink like that. It matches your lips.”

She bit down hard on her bottom lip, her head thrown back.

He’d never seen anything more gorgeous in his entire life.

“Nick!” She grabbed at him, trembling under his touch as the orgasm crashed through her.

“Yes, Mulberry. That’s a good girl.”

She cried out, a soft, breathy sound, as pleasure rolled through her, her limbs sprawled out, her hands pulling him down beside her.

She nuzzled against his arm.

He stroked her silky hair, loving how she felt against him, all warm and pliable.

“I liked that.”

“Yes, you did.” Nick threw a blanket over her, noticing how she shivered.

“Don’t say we shouldn’t have done that.”

“Okay,” he kissed her forehead.

But he should.

He should find his way to a cold shower and never touch her again.

When you’re so bad…

So, the whole month of November did not go as planned. I was sick of it for half the month and then some other stuff happened, my mate took his own vacay (okay, it was for a job – technically speaking) and I scrambled to get book stuff done.

But Mercy’s book is out.

Flame For Two and Flame For A Weekend are both on sale for $0.99 till the end of the year and I am writing the next Mercy book, finishing off the auction book…and then…getting back to Ares and Josie.

I know, it might feel like I forgot them.

But I haven’t, I swear. As soon as the calendar flips, a new pre-order will go up and if you’re subscribed to my list, a sneak peek is coming soon.

It’s snowing here and cold and I am very, very much over it. Hope the weather agrees with you, wherever you are, friends.

When you make up a challenge and then not forget …

Yesterday was the first day of NanoWriMo and maybe…maybe nobody read that my own NanoWriMo-inspired challenge was to blog here every day…?

It’s okay.
Other words in other places had to be prioritized.

I’m kind of impressed that I remembered this was a thing I did – or was trying to do?

Anyways, my coffee is getting cold, I have edits waiting for me and the humans I co-exist with did the whole, “Now it’s your turn to have the cold,” thing… which is right on par for the first day of November.

The raining days

On my second cup of coffee, and I can’t get my brain going. But I really want to get into these words and this story.
It’s been raining here for the past three days, and it’s raining still and in the forecast, it’s rain and flurries for the next three. And as background music, I have a rain track going on the background. I’m wondering why I don’t live in a warmer climate and why I don’t have a fireplace in every room.

It’s possible to hold two opposing thoughts at the same time.

Flame For A Weekend: A Bandit Brothers Novella is on sale for $.99 if office workplace romances and Daddy Doms and Babygirls are your kind of read. Light age play with spankings.

Thoughts on nourishing the weary creative

We are in the season of “Looks warm out there, but isn’t,” with the nights on their way to lengthening as the wheel moves into the darker months of the year. I’ve been thinking about nourishment and how we eat for nutritional reasons but also for nourishment or wanting to feel satisfied reasons and one thing I appreciate about my marriage as I open my kitchen cupboards and see spices I didn’t have growing up, is the abundance of new food it brought (new recipes, new celebrations).

I made breaded eggplant last night, served with turkey left over from our Thanksgiving, and the idea of that feast feeding everyone now is a really nice one to kind of take on in this chilly morning. Nourishment can be found in simple, unfrilled ways.

Also, thinking about how as a writer, I do better when I know someone is waiting on my words and how as a former blogger, I kind of miss having an immediate audience. November is National Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) and I’ve challenged myself to blog here every day of November to see if it nourishes some of my writing that I have missed while having a blog. No promises that I’ll be interesting or entertaining, going to do my best to show up here.

For the past few weeks, I have tossed a writer friend pages to read while they’ve tossed theirs at me and that exchange has given me new energy and I got a book done for my alter-ego (ready for betas soon). There is something to this having an audience thing that spurs creativity.

Since I was last here, Flame For Foe has been released into the wild.

This Slow Burn, Fake-Dating, Bodyguard Romance Gets A New Cover! (And here’s a teaser!)

Happy August, friends!

I am drinking lukewarm coffee and about to start working on edits for Flame For Foe.  I don’t think I have ever written a book that feels so … hard to come together before this one, but with each book, there is a point where I tear my hair out.

Have you tried Kobo Plus? It’s a great deal for authors (no exclusive cause! That means we can publish on Kobo/Kobo Plus and Kindle and Apple Books and Google Books and Barnes & Noble), and a lot of readers feel the subscription price is pretty fair.
This month, I am taking part in a Summer Romance Reading Binge promotion featuring books on Kobo Plus! Check it out here: Summer Romance Reading Binge on Kobo Plus.

New this month, Flame For A Weekend: A Bandit Brothers Novella, Flame For You and Flame True all got new covers.

The rest of the books will follow. It was time for an upgrade for these books, and I’m so happy with the changes.

Enjoy this teaser from Flame True, a slow-burn, fake-dating bodyguard romance and I hope August is good to you!

God, how she longed to be seen.

“Answer me” he pressed his palm into her crotch, nudging her legs wide.

“Yes!” Her hand clutched his, moving her fingers to her waistband, rolling her nylons down her legs and tossing them to the side.

Nick laughed. “Impatience looks damn sexy on you.”

He kissed her, his tongue sweeping hers, commanding her to open, his tongue seeking out more space.

She cried out, loving the kiss but wanting, needing more.

He grabbed the hem of her dress and brought it up to her hips.

“What if I fuck you right here, against the window? Would you like that?”

She threw her arms around his neck, kissing him hard, urging her to kiss back and a beat later, he did, tamping her neediness down, turning the pace down to slow, making it known to her that he wasn’t going to let her control it.

“I want this dress off of you now.”

Happy Anniversary to this Angsty Second-Chance Romance!

Super hard to believe but a year ago, Ivy and Gabe’s story was released. And you know, I’m not sure you are supposed to have favourites, and this is funny considering the roller coaster I went through while writing this book, but I think that maybe, just maybe, Flame Again is my favourite book.

I like that Ivy is independent and speaks her mind. That out there, she is intent on climbing the corporate ladder. That she’s a plus-size woman but makes no apologies for it. I love her wit and how much she loves Gabe.

And I think what I love most about Ivy is that when her life starts to crumble, she takes charge and saves herself. Is there such a thing as a reverse damsel-in-distress romance? I think Flame Again might be a poster book for it if there was.

In honour of Flame Again’s one-year-out-in-the-world, here is an new bonus scene: https://dl.bookfunnel.com/r4ou5mxpoq

You can read chapter one of Flame Again here: https://raleighdamson.com/first-chapter-of-flame-again-bandit-brothers-book-three/

The math? Not my thing. That’s ARCs for Book Six…

Because clearly, I can’t count.

In yesterday’s post, I talked about Book Seven’s ARC.

Flame For Foe is book six in the Bandit Brothers series, not book seven. Thank you to the reader who asked about this (No, you didn’t miss a release!)

The Bandit Brother Series:

Book One – FLAME FOR FOE (Quinn and Simone’s story)
Book Two- FLAME FOR TWO (Xander, Harper and Logan’s story)
Book Three- FLAME AGAIN (Ivy and Gabe’s story)
Book Four – FLAME TRUE (Nick and Mulberry’s story)
Book Five – FLAME FOR CHANCE (Sasha and Finn’s story)
Book Six- FLAME FOR FOE (Kayleigh and Erik’s story, coming September 2023)

FLAME FOR A WEEKEND: A Bandit Brothers Novella  (Gardenia and Dax’s story)

If you are looking for new authors who write spicy, check out this dark and decadent, BDSM erotica by Jessica Seaques here

Dark BDSM erotica

What is real? What is imaginary? This is the line Jessica Seaques walks, ever since she won a commission to write erotica for the indulgence of an anonymous patron. Many of her stories are based around the strange working environment the patron provides – a bizarre, mirror-walled office where Jess liaises with his beautiful yet cruel ‘agent’ and the awkward, long-suffering receptionist. All the while, the mirrors watch as the writer gets drawn… deeper and deeper… into this eccentric world of erotic fantasy.

What is real? What is imaginary? What’s the difference? Who’s the man behind the mirror and the mystery? Through the looking glass, Jess will go… and nobody knows if she’ll make it out.

MIRROR SECRET MIRROR is dark, decadent, BDSM erotica. This book is a corrupting force, an evil seduction, a delicious poison… a trap! It’s the story of a young woman being lured, baited, manipulated… hunted, captured, enslaved. The villain is dark-eyed, devilish and dominant. The villainess is sleek, sadistic and sexy. The predators work together to ensnare their prey. This story is offensive, dishonest and depraved. It twists romance, perverts love and mocks morality.

Consider yourself warned!
